In the beginning

The snow has started to melt. It seems I have survived the first winter in my cottage. Although we have a word in Finnish called springwinter - so anything can happen...Before  I start to wonder what to do with the garden and before opening doors to outdoor summer life; just a few pictures from the time I moved in.

The first thing I had to do was to put a lantern for the Sauna gnome.

I tiptoed to the sauna, and told that I was the new inhabitant here and that I wished that everything will be ok between us.

Next on the list was to bring the Buddha in the house. Do not remember exactly how, but for some reason carrying a Buddha FIRST in the house is important for me, has been since I was a little girl.

After this came placing the books on to the bookshelf. And thenI had a place I could finally call a home.

Winter wonderland

Ok, I am aware that snow, cold and winter 

are not the most exotic things in Finland right now, 

but these pictures were taken from my "garden" 

on the way to work.

Finally got a camera I can at least get some kind of pictures;

When you buy an old house there is no storage. 

Not yet, that is.

Eleven days

...until the sale is closed, and I will - for the first time in my life - have a HOME.

Instead of showing the new place; some mushrooms I picked (from the forest...)

A home!!!

A month ago I drove to a yard. Saw a house and a garden and fell love with them.

Almost two weeks ago I collected all my courage and when to the bank. And got a loan.

Yesterday I made a bid - it went through.

Dreams can come true.

Why do I have 15 t-shirts in my closet

when I only use four of them?

Why do I have 10 blouses

if I only use 5 of them?

If I use one lip gloss

why do I have six lipsticks in my purse?

If the most important thing I need in my home

is good sleep. Being able to rest

Why I do not own a decent bed?

I am relearning the basics - again, I guess.

A new love interest

It is shocking how time moves on.

I (still) live in my yellow chabako box..

an I have found my dream house!!

It is not for sale - so I must just stalk around the property and dream.

It is a traditional finnish cottage - white wood and maybe has even Two rooms!

It is the smallest house I´ve seen for a while. And I love it!

Maybe - someday...
